The Making of the Video

George and Emilio persuaded students and friends to contribute funds to produce a video and television series. The production crew, camera crew, producer, director and make-up artist, from the PBS station KQED-TV in San Francisco, volunteered their time and talent. Musicians from the San Francisco Symphony composed and performed the original music. The Chevron Oil Company provided studios.

Since "Qigong for Health" first aired in California in January, 1997, the cutting edge series has aired periodically on PBS stations around the country. According to "Tai Chi Magazine", the "Qigong for Health" video has become the best selling video on qigong or martial arts.

The exercise routines presented on the video evolved from the intructors' personal experience of teaching a special Qigong class for people with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other chronic illness. The movement, breathing and relaxation routines are introduced gradually, using simple demonstrations that are easy to follow and can be learned at home by any beginner.
